Freely available Converged SIP / HTTP Application Servers

  • Sailfin is the SIP Servlet enabled GlassFish server from Java.
  • Mobicents is a popular Open Source SIP Application Server for the Java platform. It provides a number of resource adaptors out of the box, essentially making it an Open Source SDP.
  • WeSIP is a SIP and HTTP Converged Application Server built on top of OpenSER
  • New! Cipango is an Open Source SIP Servlets and HTTP Servlets Converged Application Server. It runs as a standalone AS or as a JBoss service
  • New! Sip-Servlets is a SIP Servlet v1.1 (JSR 289 Spec) implementation on top of Tomcat and to develop interoperability standards between SIP Servlet and JAIN-SLEE so that applications may exploit the strengths of both.

The JAIN SIP API is the underlying SIP Stack for most SIP applications. An introduction to developing with JAIN can be found here.

Netbeans IDE is one of the most convenient ways of developing, testing and debugging Java EE and Sip Servlet applications. A plugin is available that integrates the Sailfin AS into Netbeans.
