British Telecom (BT) have published a SDK for Web application developers. This SDK exposes BT network capabilities as an API for developers to use in websites and applications. With this SDK, one can integrate highly secure services such as Messaging, Voice, Conference Call, Authentication or Inbound SMS into an application. Simply register, purchase credits, download the SDK and start developing! There are a number of examples to get started, and more help in the forum and documentation.

Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)A detailed definition of an ESB can be found on the wikipedia. An ESB is essentially the backbone of a SOA-based enterprise network - although it does not implement a SOA, but provides the features with which one may be implemented. The ESB itself is the piece of software that lies between the business applications and enables communication among them. In the context of an IMS/NGN framework, and ESB would help to enable smoother integration with northbound OSS/BSS systems and an SOA-based SDP. A number of open-source implementations are available:
